Contessa Hotel

This hotel looks nothing like the pictures online. Good things: pool is nice, decent size, plenty of sunbeds. Location is excellent. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Awful things: Air conditioning is extra - 10 euros a night- we had two rooms for 10 nights = 200 euros extra on top of our holiday. Have to pay extra to use the fridge 😮😮😮 Pool area has plastic sunbeds but if you want a comfortable mattress you have to pay….EXTRA!!! Shower is possibly the smallest shower I’ve ever seen and you spend more time trying to get a decent temperature than actually showering. Reception staff are less than helpful or welcoming.

Hotel was clean enough, breakfast plenty of choice. Pool not overcrowded and bar prices on a par with everywhere else. The guys behind the bar are very welcoming and friendly. Only complaint is the room was very cramped for 2 adults and 2 children.

First time at this hotel. Not been to Argassi for 17 years. The resort has expanded a lot. The hotel was in a perfect location about 300 yards up a road off the Main Street. Easy to get to the bars and restaurants. Far more eating places than bars in the resort. A couple of small supermarkets a few yards from the hotel. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The room was a decent size. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms had a fridge and a safe and air conditioning all of which you had to pay for. The breakfast was really good. A buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Ate in restaurant once because it was heavy rain. This cost 15 euros each. It was buffet style hot and cold food as much as you could eat. Good value for money. The only downside to the hotel was the pool area. Most of the sunbeds and half of the pool were in the shade for half of the day. The reason being there were some trees blocking the sun. If they were cut back it would make the pool area so much better. The other thing, not the hotel’s fault, we’re the selfish people that put towels on the beds extremely early in the morning then did not go on them until we’ll after breakfast had finished about 10 to 11 am. This happened most days so you couldn’t get a bed at 9am after we had our breakfast. We simply took our custom elsewhere and sunbathed at the Marie Mare opposite the Green Frog bar. Spent our money there instead. No charge for the beds. The Contessa actually charges for you to have a padded mattress on the plastic sunlounger. Not good

Just returned from another fantastic stay ,had a great time ,hotel is lovely and spotless as always ,breakfast was very good a great choice ,staff are lovely, bar is great and so is the food at the bar ,big hello to Lydia your a star 🌟, also hello to spirios and Mario and everyone who works so hard to make your stay a great one ,hope to see you next year.

When we arrived we were allocated a room in the basement, which I can only describe as student accommodation, no place to hang clothes, with racking across the room, we requested to move rooms, which happened the next day, and the reception staff were very helpful, and probably make this hotel. Bad points you get charged for everything, fridge air con safe and even a cushion to go on your sunbed of 2 euros a day each, towels were put down each morning at 4am and were not removed as in my opinion should be , sad to the people, who should remember you are on holiday, and if you cannot get round the pool, the beach is not too far away, wait until the fresh food comes at in the morning, because a lot of the time it was cold, would we return sadly no, and I think TUI should mention the extra cost, but a small tip pay for a fridge which has a lock on it and put your water and valuables in it

We returned from our 4th stay at Contessa Hotel and it was the best as always. Rooms are spotlessly clean as is the hotel and pool area. Great selection of lovely food for breakfast each morning, lunch and drinks down at the pool bar is fab too. To add, the best cocktails ever! Location is great, brilliant restaurants around and lovely little small beach area few minutes walk, along with great choice of bars for an evening. Finally the staff at the hotel, everyone works so hard and are always so helpful, we feel like family each time we return for our stay. Cannot fault the hotel and everyone at it, would recommend to everyone- you’ll have the best stay. We look forward to our next trip back!!

Just back from a week staying at the Contessa hotel. Lovely hotel, very clean throughout and pool area spotless. Reception staff very helpful and pool bar staff were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent loads of choices to choose from. Would definitely go back and recommend this hotel.

No complaints with hotel, very clean, good food and friendly staff. Some big ******* though. Felt like I'd gone back in time with the fantom sunbed claimers. Towels appearing like magic with no one using the beds until mid morning. SELFISH. Hotel should sort it. Also while I'm at it €2 to use the fridge in your room, never known that one before. Oh yes and €10 a day for aircon is a bit steep. Other than that no complaints.

Hotel is well run , and kept very clean. Compared to other hotels in the area the pool is a reasonable size, with plenty of spaces in Sun and Shade. Pool bar excellent service and fantastic food. We had half board and the evening food was always of a high standard, and flexible on times , and never ran out of the various options. There was usually something the children would eat , although a little more consistancy for child friendly buffet options was our only very minor feedback.( As they loved a lot of the poolside food) Yes you pay extra for the air con, but this was clear when we booked it , and worth it.
